If you’re anything like me, sometimes you have problems with your AKO login. Well I’m here to help. There are plenty of ways that you will be able to log in and access your Webmail. STEP 1
Have an account. This should be obvious, but sometimes needs repeating. If you need to log into your webmail, you’ll need an account first 8) To get an account you will need to be an active member of the USA military and have a CAC (Card Reader). Pretty soon all Army Knowledge Online webpages will require a CAC, so be prepared for the switch by talking to the person you report to or log into the official military website to get more information.
If step 1 wasn’t enough, you’ll also need to make sure that the official military website is trusted and you can view it’s certificates. There are lots of ways to do this, in IE if you are getting a 500 internal server error message, you will have to make sure that Army Knowledge Online is added to your trusted website. In IE7 you can do this by going to Tools > Options > Security > Trusted Sites > and select https://akocac.us.army.mil in the white box then click remove. Shut all the windows and you’re good to go!
